Giant Caribbean sea anemone (Condylactis gigantea)
Sea Anemone
The sea Anemone also has a very simple nervous system. All it has is something called a nerve net which is basically just a bunch of loosely connected neurons. These neurons send out their electrical impulses in every direction, so when one neuron receives a message, all of the neurons receive this message. The reason the neurons are able to do this is because of an "en passant" synapse. |
